We are proud to recognize the achievements of our members.

Members of the Emerald Coast Chapter of DSDCTA are eligible for Year-End Awards within the competition year, which is from October 1 of one year to September 30th of the following year.
All levels will be awarded Champion through sixth place.
To be eligible for awards:
Participants must be an active ECC member in good standing at the time scores are earned.
​
Participants must volunteer a minimum of 4 hours at any Chapter event, shown and/or function.
​
All scores must be submitted within 30 days of the show date. No scores and/or corrections will be accepted after October 15 of the award year.
Divisions recognized by the chapter:

Junior/Young Rider:
-
Open to juniors and young riders who meet the USEF Dressage definition of Junior or Young Rider. A competitor is a Junior Rider until the end of the calendar year in which she/he reaches age eighteen, and a Young Rider until the end of the calendar year in which she/he reaches twenty one.

Adult Amateur:

Open to Amateurs who meet the USEF Dressage definition of Adult.

For competition purposes, in dressage division, competitors shall competes as Adults from the beginning of the calendar year in which the reach the age of twenty two.

Masters:

Open to members Fifty years or older.

Members must declare intent to compete in the Masters' division at the beginning of the competition year.

Open:
-
Open to all. There are no restrictions based on the horse or rider.

All divisions will be awarded separately and no horse/rider combination will be considered for awards in more than one division per competition year.
Each horse/rider combination winning a Championship at any given level will not be eligible for further competition awards at that level or below in any division again.

Competition Awards:
Dressage Awards:

Scores must be earned at a minimum of two shows, with two different judges.

Judges must be an "L" graduate or higher.

A minimum of four scores are needed for Second Level and below.

A minimum of three scores are needed at Third Level and above.

The be eligible for awards at Intro through Second level, one score must be earned at the highest level test (test three).

To be eligible for awards at Thid level and higher, scores can be earned from any test.

Combined Training Awards:

A minimum of three scores required in Pre-Ameba through Preliminary division.

A minimum of two score are required for the Intermediate and Advanced Divisions.

Dressage test must be judged by an "L" graduate or higher.
Special Awards:
Jan Fernald Award
This an award for a dressage rider. It is to be given to an adult amateur or a professional who exemplifies dedication to the sport of dressage. This individual must be someone who has trained consistently to improve their riding skills over many years, has stayed actively involved in ECC through participation in club events, exhibits volunteerism beyond minimum standards and displays fortitude in dressage riding and training both at Club events and independently. It is not based on scores but on character, discipline, volunteerism, fortitude, horsemanship, consistency in the sport of dressage over many years and dedication to ECC.

The Ruth Cantrell Memorial Trophy
This award is presented to the ECC Adult Amateur with the Year-End High Point from a Recognized Show.
Ruth Cantrell was a founding member of ECC who passed on Nov. 15, 2009. She held many positions over the years, including Tempo editor for the GMO. She was a typical AA, balancing work, family and significant injuries over the years that impeded her rise up the levels, but she never let that dampen her love of the sport or her efforts to improve her riding.

Achievement Awards:
ECC Senior Volunteer Award
This award is presented to a Senior Member who has demonstrated outstanding volunteer effort by achieving the most Volunteer hours for the year. Board Members are eligible, though Board related volunteer hours cannot be applied to this award. All other volunteer efforts by Board members will apply.
ECC Junior Volunteer of the Year Award
This award is presented to a Junior Member who has demonstrated outstanding volunteer effort by achieving the most Volunteer hours for the year.
